100% Wool

For the manufacture of our rugs, we use 100% wool produced locally in Morocco, obtained from sheep that graze in the mountains and plains, carefully selecting it to ensure that it is of the best quality.

The quality of the wool is essencial for the manufacture of Moroccan rugs, since it determines the durability and the final appearance of the rug.

At the same time, Moroccan wool is known for its long fiber length, which makes it ideal for spinning and weaving. In addition, it is naturally resistant to water and fire, which makes it a very durable material.

To remove any dirt or impurities, the wool is subjected to a cleaning and carding process, before being spun. It is then dyed with natural plant, insect and mineral based dyes to create the vibrant colors characteristic of Moroccan rugs.

The characteristic of the wool also vary according to the region, resulting in different types of rugs.

For example, the wool produced in the Beni Ourain region, in the Atlas Mountains, is known for its softness and the length of its fibers, making it ideal for making soft long-pile rugs.

On the other hand, the wool produced in the Azilal region is known for its strength and durability.
