Rug Size Guide

Here are some tips to help you select the right rug size:

⇒ Consider the size of the room: The size of the room will determine the appropriate size of the rug. In general, a larger rug works well in a spacious room, while a smaller rug is suitable for a smaller room.

⇒ Define the space: Decide on the purpose of the rug, whether it's to define a seating area or anchor a dining table. For instance, in a living room, the rug should be large enough to fit under all the furniture or at least the front legs of the larger pieces.

⇒ Leave space around the edges: Leave at least 18 inches of bare floor space around the edges of the rug to create a visual border between the rug and the walls.

⇒ Consider the shape of the room: If the room is square or rectangular, choose a rug that's in the same shape. If the room is round, a circular rug can work well.

⇒ Think about the furniture layout: The rug should be centered under the furniture, with enough space around the edges. For example, if the rug is for a dining room, it should be large enough to accommodate the table and chairs when they're pulled out.

Remember that the size of the rug is just one aspect of its overall design. You should also consider the material, color, pattern, and texture when selecting a rug that will enhance your decor.
